Lake Orion Robotics Team 302 participates in the First Robotics Competition. It has high school aged teams competing head to head on a field designed for a game that is announced the first week in January each year. Robots are built according to the rules released with the game. The rules include how to score points and what constraints (size, weight, cost, parts, etc.) which the robot must comply with. Typically, there are six (6) robots (two alliances of three (3) robots) on the field at a time. Each alliance works together to try to win the match. The competition is designed to have the excitement of sports and the rigors of science.
