OCCRA (Oakland County Competitive Robotics Association)
OCCRA was formed to generate interest and enthusiasm for technical and academic disciplines such as design, engineering, physics, and electronics. OCCRA is a way to encourage students who devote their energies to these areas of study.
Goals of the program
To generate enthusiasm for technical and academic disciplines such as design, engineering, physics and electronics.
To provide a format for integrating and applying diverse scientific and technical areas of study within the school curriculum.
To provide recognition and encouragement for students who devote their energies to these areas of study.
To promote team/workplace skills and good sportsmanship.
To raise awareness within the high schools about math, science, and engineering and to prepare students for the diverse technical career options available in our county and state.
To create school-corporate partnerships that will enrich the high school experience for our students by provideing greater accessibility to people in scientific and technical careers.
